JAKARTA - International badminton Commissioner, Gill Clark, expressed his condolences for the death of Syabda Perkasa Belawa. The young Indonesian badminton player died after an accident on the Pemalang Toll Road on Monday, March 20.

The condolences of the woman who is familiarly called Oma Gill were shared through her personal social media. The news of Syabda's death, Oma Gill admitted, made her very surprised and sad.

"I am very surprised and sad to know this tragic news," said Oma Gill on her Twitter account.

Oma Gill then recalled Syabda's actions as a talented player when he acted in the 2022 Thomas Cup event. In this prestigious tournament, Syabda took part in Indonesia's success in defeating South Korea 3-2 in the group stage.

"I remember watching it at the 2022 Thomas Cup in Bangkok and impressed with his talent," wrote Gill.

Previously, it was reported that Syabda had an accident on the Pemalang Toll Road, Central Java, on Monday, March 20, early morning WIB. He was about to go to Sragen to attend the grandmother's funeral.

Syabda's body was buried in one grave with her mother who was also a victim in the accident, as well as her grandmother.
