Antony Ginting's Small Mistakes That Caused Fatal At The All England 2023 Event

JAKARTA - Indonesian men's singles, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, failed to advance to the semifinals of All England 2023 after losing to Danish representative Anders Antonsen. The failure was caused by a small mistake.

However, the small mistake was fatal because it occurred during crucial points. This is regrettable for Ginting.

"My mistakes were in small details, such as several times there was a chance to get points but it didn't work because it was hit by a net, then the ball came out, and so on. It had an effect on the results of the match," Ginting said in a written statement released by PBSI.

Ginting felt the strategy was right. But his opponent realized it and then changed the strategy. The situation that occurred in the third game turned out to be beyond the expectations of the Indonesian representatives.

"In the third game, actually already tried to do what was done in the second game. Only Antonsen must have his strategy and change his own game," Ginting recounted.

Ginting was also unlucky when facing Antonsen who had returned to his best performance after previously declining. Observations through the opponent's video recording also did not help much, because Antonsen turned out to have a pattern that was difficult to break.

The rally game that was carried out to drain Antonsen's energy failed. Based on the experience of the previous meeting, Ginting always managed to beat Antonsen in the third game.

However, in the All England quarter-finals, Antonsen was still able to put up a fierce fight in the third game and maintain game consistency.

"I've tried to play rally, he's draining his stamina, because from previous meetings, usually in the third game he has started to decline. But today he can overcome that," said Ginting.

Ginting did not want to drag on in his defeat. He is still grateful that he was able to bring out his best performance in this prestigious tournament.

"I am happy with this week's performance, I can maintain my focus, can implement a strategy. Even though it is under pressure from the opponent, I still don't want to give up," Ginting concluded.
