Manchester United Loses Twice: Detained By Southampton 0-0, Casemiro Red Carded

JAKARTA Manchseter United's performance in the Premier League competition is still unstable, after they failed to win the home duel against Southampton. United were held to a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford by a team that currently holds the caretaker position of the Premier League standings, Sunday 12 March 2023.

Not only that, United also had to play with 10 players since the first half. Midfielder from Brazil, Casemiro received a red card after struggling Carlos Alcaraz hard in the 34th minute. The red card is the second for Casemiro this season.

Winning the number of players made Southampton more confident in attacking. The team led by coach Ruben Selles was able to release 17 attempted shots at United's goal which was guarded by David de Gea. But none of them paid off.

Until the second half ended, the position remained 0-0. With these results, United were still in third place in the Premier League standings with a score of 50. Meanwhile Southampton also have not been able to move from the bottom of the standings, with a score of 22.

The top two positions in the Premier League standings remain inhabited by Arsenal and Manchester City. In Sunday's match, Arsenal won 3-0 at home to Fulham while City also won away over Crystal Palace with a score of 1-0. Arsenal collected a score of 66, while City 61.
