League Results 1: Away To Samarinda, PSIS Semarang Crazy By Borneo FC 1-6

JAKARTA - Borneo FC won a landslide victory with a score of 6-1 at home to PSIS Semarang in the 2023 Liga 1 competition continued at Segiri Stadium Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Sunday evening.

Matheus Pato became the hero of the big victory of the team nicknamed Pesut Etam by contributing three goals. The other three goals were scored by Hendro Siswanto, M Sihran and Adam Alis.

Meanwhile, one goal reply from the Mahesa Jenar squad was scored by R Dwi Pangestu in the middle of the second half.

In the match which was witnessed by thousands of the host supporters, the Pesut Etam squad appeared confident and dominated since the kick off of the first half, while the Mahesa Jenar squad defended more and waited for the ball, while implementing counter-attack tactics.

Borneo FC midfielder Hendro Siswanto opened the hosts' victory with a hard kick that PSIS goalkeeper Adi Satrio failed to anticipate in the 18th minute.

Three minutes later, Matheus Pato managed to double the lead for the hosts, taking advantage of the mistakes of PSIS defenders who failed to set an off-side trap.

The Brazilian striker, again carved his name on the scoreboard, after scoring his second goal when he was believed to be the executioner of the penalty kick.

M Sihran's turn to score his fourth goal for Borneo FC, as well as close the first half match with a score of 4-0.

Entering the second half, the Mahesa Jenar squad began to fight back and tried to catch up with the goal deficit.

In the 48th minute, referee Nusur Abdulah again pointed to the spot for Borneo FC, as PSIS defenders were deemed to have committed a foul.

Unfortunately, Matheus Pato, who was again appointed as the executioner, failed to convert into a goal.

This situation made the Mahesa Jenar laskar rise and managed to score the opening goal for the visitors, through Dwi Restu's action in the 58th minute.

Not long after, the Borneo FC squad moved back and managed to widen the winning distance by contributing Adam Alis' goal in the 62nd minute.

Towards ten minutes of normal time ending, Mateheus Pato managed to record his third goal in that match, as well as closing the hosts' win with a score of 6-1.

The winning result put Borneo FC standing at the top of the standings and was ranked 4th with 50 points.

Meanwhile, the PSIS squad is still standing in the middle board position and is ranked 11th with 35 points.
