JAKARTA - Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Gianyar, Bali is under investigation for one of the locations for the 2023 U-20 World Cup matches.

PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir and his entourage arrived at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium at around 15.30 WITA and immediately checked several facilities at the stadium, including the field, grass, stands, parking lot, and security readiness.

"I think Bali's preparation is good. We just need to encourage how the settlement is, additional parking spaces. Hopefully PUPR will still have a commitment, the local government will have a new job to do, just behind asking for April to finish," said Erick Thohir.

The groups who participated in the location of the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, including the Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali, Deputy General Chair II PSSI Ratu Thasha, Chairman of the PSSI Bali Asprov Ketut Suardana, Deputy Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, Regent of Gianyar I Made Agus Mahayastra, and Director of Strategic Infrastructure of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing Essy Asiah.

After reviewing for approximately 20 minutes, he praised Bali's readiness as one of the host cities of the U-20 World Cup which is scheduled to take place from May 20 to June 11.

PSSI in principle supports the readiness of the national team and the technicalities of the U-20 World Cup.

"But of course the domain of preparation lies with the central government and local governments who sign contracts (with FIFA), some are host countries, some are city. There we want to make sure there is no disappointment with the Indonesian people who are very passionate about the U-20 World Cup," Erick explained.

After checking the readiness of the stadium facilities, Erick also met several groups of supporters. However, the meeting took place behind closed doors.

Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium is the fourth location that Erick visited after previously visiting the Jakabaring Stadium in Palembang and Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung, Saturday, and Manahan Stadium in Solo, Sunday.

The PSSI delegation will also continue their journey to Gelora Bung Tomo in Surabaya and the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta, Monday (13/3).
