Bartek Marszalek from Stromoy Racing won full points after winning the first round of the World Championship F1 Powerboat (F1H2O) with a fastest time of 58.21 seconds in Lake Toba waters, the Muliaraja Napitupulu Port area, Blate, North Sumatra.

In the 30-minute race, the Polish racer finished ahead by slashing the 2.2km long circuit with 18 laps.

With this result, Marszalek is entitled to 20 points which is an important asset to navigate the next seven rounds in the F1H2O season 2023.

"It was amazing to win the race. I really enjoyed it. The weather this morning was perfect for qualifying and we had a lot of spectators around the lake. So many smiles gave extra motivation. I was very good on the boat," Marszalek was quoted as saying by ANTARA, Sunday, February 26.

The second position belongs to Sami Setio from the Sharjah team which is 01.97 seconds adrift of the winner. Then Erik Stark won the third position as long as the Victory team was 03.26 seconds adrift. The two riders each got 15 and 12 points.

Peter Morin from China CTIC Team is in fourth place with a difference of 04.18 seconds and below it is the Abu Dhabi Team Thani Al Qamzi driver who is 05.87 seconds adrift.

Bad luck was experienced by defending champion Shaun Torrente from the Abu Dhabi Team. He had to settle for being thrown into 9th position by one lap difference from the winner of the race.

Torrente, who was in pole position, was awarded a one lap for stealing a start.

It was Torrente's second mistake after previously in the qualifying session, he had received pole position, but his best time record was canceled because the racer was caught cutting the line.

Therefore, Torrente must hand over the starting leading position to Marszalek and start the one-place race behind the Polish racer.
