JAKARTA - Manchester United on Thursday officially completed the transfer of Ivory Coast player Amad Diallo from Atalanta.

The 18-year-old has signed a four-year contract until June 2025 with an option for an additional one year.

The Diallo recruitment agreement had actually been announced by the club for the first time on October 5, 2020, but cooperation between the two was limited to medical requirements, work permits and personal agreements.

However, the administrative process has now been completed and a visa application has been submitted. Diallo will be allowed to fly to Manchester and join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad.

Diallo has played five appearances for Atalanta and scored one goal.

Manchester United manager Solskjaer said Diallo had been on the club's radar for several years.

"Manchester United has a proud history of developing young players and everything is set for Amad to reach his potential here," said Solskjaer.

"It will take time for him to adapt, but his speed, vision and ability to dribble will make it easier for him to make the transition."

Meanwhile, Diallo said the contract with the Red Devils was a "dream come true."

“I have had time to move here, both physically and mentally. And I have worked hard to step up with this extraordinary club, "said Diallo.
