Erick Thohir Becomes General Chair, This Is The Complete Composition Of The PSSI Executive Committee For The 2023-2027 Period

JAKARTA PSSI has completed the executive committee selection for the 2023-2027 term. The composition of the management consisting of the general chairman, vice chairman, and members is now fully filled.

The election for the general chairman, deputy chairman, and members of the national football parent took place at the Extraordinary Congress (KLB) at the Shangri-La Hotel, Central Jakarta, Thursday, February 16, 2023.

The election process, which lasted for approximately 11 hours, has appointed 15 people in the ranks of the Executive Committee consisting of one general chairman, two vice-chairs, and 12 members.

The agenda begins with the election of the general chairman which was won by SOE Minister Erick Thohir. The former Inter Milan president gathered 64 votes to beat the Chairman of the DPD RI, LaNyalla Mattalitti, who only secured 22 votes.

"I also express my gratitude to the candidates for deputy, candidate for chairman, and candidates for executive committee members who are not elected, you are part of all of us," Erick said in his inaugural speech after the victory.

This agenda was actually followed by four candidates for chairman. However, two other names, namely Arif Putra Wicaksono and Doni Setiabudi, did not get a single vote from 86 voting rights owners (voters).

Meanwhile, Queen Thasha Destria and Zainudin Amali were given the majority confidence to occupy the position of vice chairman after the voting process drama that had to be held twice.

"I congratulate the representatives and the elected executive committee members. We must also give our greatest appreciation to all of us because we have shown that Indonesia's democracy has gone the right way," said Erick.

This year's PSSI KLB is full of drama after the process of selecting the vice chairman (Waketum) of the national football parent had to be held twice. This was done following protests from several voting rights owners (voters).

They felt there was cheating in the first election because the votes that should have been given to Ratu Tisha, Ahmad Syauqi Suratno, and Ahmad Riyadh, were not read out during the counting process.

In the first election, the Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali bagged 66 votes to sit in Deputy I. He outperformed Yunus Nusi (63 votes) who was entitled to serve as Deputy II.

Meanwhile, Queen Thasha, who received 41 votes, failed to occupy the Deputy Chair in the first election, managed to get the most votes in the re-voting to replace Amali.

The former PSSI Secretary General for the 2017-2020 period received 54 votes and won one vote each from Yunus and 10 votes from Amali. Yunus, who lost slightly, automatically took up the position of Deputy II.

After the vote count from the second election took place, the PSSI KLB drama this year continued with Yunus Nusi's resignation. The decision automatically gave Amali a way to ride to accompany Tisha in the representative position.
