JAKARTA - South Korean coach Shin Tae-yong has led the U-19 Indonesian national team's training camp (TC) in Spain after arriving in the country of Matador on Sunday.
Previously Shin did not participate in the group for Spain which left at the end of last December. He chose to follow because he wanted to lead the Indonesian U-23 national team training camp in Jakarta in preparation for the 2021 SEA Games.
The day after his arrival, Shin immediately instructed his players to hold an internal game at Complex Esportiu Futbol Salou, Spain.
As quoted by Antara from the official PSSI website, Tuesday, December 5, Shin said that this internal game was held to determine the extent of the player's condition after a week of training, as well as preparation for the trial.
"After more than a week they were here (in Spain) we provided the internal game material today. With the internal game I also checked the players' condition, especially when we will face a trial match," said Shin.
Apart from Shin, three players who were declared reactive have also participated in training. However, regarding the names of the three players, PSSI chose to keep it a secret.
During the training camp, the Garuda Muda squad did not just train. Bagas Kaffa and his friends will play a number of trial matches.
There are five trial matches that have been prepared for the U-19 Indonesian national team, namely against Gimnastic Tarragona, Lleida Esportiu U-19, Sabadell U-19, Ceuta U-19, and Saudi Arabia U-19.
The U-19 Indonesian national team will have a training camp in Spain until January 31, 2021. This TC is a preparation for Indonesia U-19 to compete in the U-19 AFC Cup in March 2021 in Uzbekistan.
