Former Liverpool Hurt, Beat 0-1 At Southampton Headquarters

JAKARTA - The fast for Liverpool's goals continues in week 17 of the Premier League, Monday local time (Tuesday WIB). They were beaten 0-1 at the St Stadium. Mary's through a single goal from former player, Danny Ings.

According to Antara, Ings scored the only goal when the match entered the second minute and Southampton was able to guard the advantage until the whistle sounded the game over.

In fact, Liverpool had to wait until the 74th minute to get their shot on target through Sadio Mane's strike, which unfortunately was still too weak and easy to tame by goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

In attacking preoccupation, Liverpool almost conceded the second goal when Alisson carelessly left his nest and was tricked by Yann Valery, unfortunately the Southampton substitute's shot was too weak and could be chased by Jordan Henderson at the goal mouth.

As for Southampton (29) the win this time saw them move up to sixth in the standings past Everton (29), Aston Villa (26) and Chelsea (26), according to the official Premier League website.

The two teams will have their next FA Cup third round tie this weekend, when Liverpool visit Aston Villa on Friday, January 8 and Southampton host third-tier Shrewsbury Town a day later.
