Michael Chandler Opened His Voice After Becoming UFC's First Fighter To Welcoming Conor McGregor's Return

JAKARTA - Michael Chandler has been appointed as a fighter who will welcome Conor McGregor back to the UFC. After being silent, Chandler then broke his silence.

UFC boss Dana White has announced that McGregor and Chandler will fight twice this year. Reportedly, one of the fights will be held in September.

Before fighting each other, McGregor and Chandler will be coaches from fighters who join The Ultimate Fighter. In this event, the fighters who took part stay, train, and fight together to win the UFC contract.

Actually, Chandler has long been predicted to be McGregor's first opponent after a comeback. He also really wanted it.

After all that materialized, Chandler said on his YouTube channel, "Conor is the fight I want."

"He has expressed interest in fighting me and now here we are," he continued, as reported by The Sun.

Chandler couldn't wait to get involved in The Ultimate Fighter. He wanted to prove that he was better than McGregor, not only in fighting, but also in training a fighter.

"Competition starts right now. We will be stuck together in the same city for a month, or a month and a half, but the competition will run around the clock," Chandler said.

"I want to win this. I can't wait, this is something I want to do. I want to take off my fighter hat and wear a coaching hat, to take this young man and woman on a once-in-a-lifetime occasion."

"I had the opportunity to train some of them, so now we are building hype and competition," he continued.

For McGregor, this is the second chance to coach The Ultimate Fighter after his 2015 appearance. Meanwhile, Chandler will feel it for the first time.

Chandler is preparing to spend weeks training against the Irish and the accompanying mental war.

"I know Conor has thought about what it's like to be in the same environment as me. There will be a little game, the things he will say and the way he tries to get into my head," Chandler said.

"You can't see how excited I am to compete and win. We all know that we are excited for this fight. I can't wait to compete against Conor and beat him," he added.
