JAKARTA - Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag is furious with VAR which he finds inconsistent, after his midfielder Casemiro became the only player to be sent off following a feud among the players when United won 2-1 over Crystal Palace on Sunday morning WIB.

Bruno Fernandes' penalty goal and Marcus Rashford's goal put United on track to win the 13th consecutive home win in all competitions.

But United had to go through some tough times ahead of the game at Old Trafford Stadium was done, after Casemiro got a red card, before Jeffrey Schlupp could score a return goal to narrow Palace down.

Before the goal occurred, Schlupp pushed United's Antony off the pitch. This sparked a feud between the players, and ended up with Casemiro being the only person to be shown a red card.

Referee Andre Marriner did a VAR review and then saw a picture of Casemiro strangling Palace player Will Hughes in the neck.

"This team is a unit, but of course you have to be able to control emotions, but at that time it was really difficult. Then I saw the two teams fighting with each other. I saw several players from both teams exceeding the line, and one player being sent off. For me, that was not right," said Ten Hag as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, February 5.

The Dutch coach also said that Palace Jordan Ayew players should also have been sent off because of his action when the fight broke out.

"You did, but there was one player who did it even worse, I can say, compared to Casemiro. For Casemiro, you stop the video and it does cross the line," Ten Hag said.

"You have to be consistent as VAR. Last week we lost Christian Eriksen (who had to be out for three months) for a bad foul. There was no intervention from VAR. Against Crystal Palace (last month), (Jean-Philippe) Mateta followed Martinez, he ran two weeks with a scar on his eyebrows, and (VAR) didn't intervene. I don't think this is true," he said.

The win itself brought United even stronger in third place in the Premier League standings, with 42 points. They are two points ahead of fourth-placed Newcastle United, and three points behind Manchester City who are in second place.
