Thailand's Record In The AFF Cup And The Complete List Of The Champions

JAKARTA - Thailand managed to secure the 2022 AFF Cup title after beating Vietnam 1-0 in the second leg of the final, Monday, January 16. On aggregate, Thailand won 3-2 after the first leg of the two teams drew.

This year's title has set a record for Thailand. The White Elephant Country team has won seven prestigious competitions in Southeast Asia.

A total of seven AFF Cup titles were secured by Thailand in 1996, 2000, 2002, 2014, 2016, 2020, and 2022. Meanwhile, the status of the defending champion was won in the 2000 - 2002, 2014 - 2016 and 2020 - 2022 editions.

Apart from Thailand, the AFF Cup participating countries that once won were Singapore, Vietnam and Malaysia. However, the achievements of this country have not been able to match what Thailand has achieved.

Singapore won in 1998, 2004, 2007, 2012. Then Vietnam won the 2008 AFF Cup, 2018 and Malaysia won the 2010 AFF Cup once.

For Indonesia, although they have never won, the Garuda Squad subscribes to the AFF Cup final. Among them were 2000, 2002, 2004, 2010, 2016, and 2020.

In the 2022 AFF Cup edition, the War Elephant team won not only but also placed one player as the top scorer.

Teerasil Dangda are at the top of the top of the score along with Vietnamese player Nguyen Tien Linh, they each scored six goals in the biennial championship.
