Bali United Appearing In AFC Cup, Brwa Nouri And Melvin Platje Extend Contract

JAKARTA - Two foreign players belonging to Bali United officially extended their contracts with the team nicknamed Serdadu Tridatu after PSSI announced its representation at the 2021 AFC Cup.

Quoted by Antara from the club's official website, Monday, December 28, the two foreign players, namely Brwa Nouri from Iraq and Dutch player Melvin Platje. They signed a contract extension for the next season.

"Brwa Nouri has become a player after Melvin Platje and also head coach Stefano Cugurra have continued their careers with Bali United. It is worth looking forward to returning to their struggles with Serdadu Tridatu to provide new achievements with the team from the island of the gods," wrote a statement from Bali United.

Previously, the management of Bali United was made anxious for fear of losing a number of its flagship pillars due to unclear competition. This concern is based, because foreign players at other clubs have decided to leave.

However, within the past week, Serdadu Tridatu's management could breathe a sigh of relief. Coach Stefano Cugurra "Teco" decided to extend his contract for two more seasons. Teco also did not escape the news that he would leave soon after he uploaded photos of his former club on Instagram. However, those worries were completely paid off last week.

Shortly after that, Brwa Nouri and Melvin Platje followed Teco's steps to remain in the uniform of the club that is the pride of the Balinese people. That way only Paulo Sergio decided to leave, while another foreign player, William Pacheco, has yet to confirm whether to stay or leave.

Meanwhile, Teco expressed his ambition to defend the Indonesian League 1 title. He also wants to bring Bali United to achieve achievements in the 2021 AFC Cup stage.

"Bali United has not played the competition for a long time since last March. Hopefully the supporters will continue to support this team next year, even though at first those who attended the stadium without spectators. Hopefully the situation will slowly improve.
