18 Months Absent Due To Injury, Kevin Durant Ready To Action Again

JAKARTA - Kevin Durant has declared his readiness to return to the NBA with the Brooklyn Nets after 18 months of absence due to an anchilles tendon injury.

The return of the best NBA player, who also won two MVPs while still with the Golden State Warriors, is good news for fans who want to see Durant playing at his best. They have been waiting for how Durant creates a slick duet with his teammate, Kyrie Irving.

Fans now don't have to wait any longer to see Durant's first appearance with the Nets. The reason is, the Nets will host the Warriors in the NBA's first game this season on Tuesday, December 22 local time.

Durant said the meeting with the Warriors after an 18 month absence would not be a revenge meeting. He considered it an "ordinary meeting."

“I was out for 18 months and didn't play an NBA game for a long time. So it will take time for me to be able to lift my leg to jump and put it in the right position, "said Durant as quoted by Antara from AFP, Tuesday.

Durant was injured in the fifth game of the 2019 NBA Finals while defending the Golden State Warriors. Then, during the free agent period, Durant signed a four-year contract with the Nets, shortly after he underwent surgery.

Unfortunately, he had to watch the Nets match on the bench throughout last season's competition. Their luck to win the title also faded when Irving also suffered a shoulder injury which kept him out in the second half of last season.

However, Durant is now increasingly confident that he can return to competing with the Brooklyn Nets thanks to the support of his teammates. He even appeared in his first pre-season appearance with the Nets. He scored 15 points in 24 minutes.
