JAKARTA - PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) is finalizing preparations for the second round of Liga 1 2022/2023. The league operator has prepared two schemes for the continuation of the competition.

PT LIB Operations Director, Sudjarno said, the scheme prepared was in the form of a bubble and home away system with an audience presence.

"That's the first notification and permission (preparation for the second round of Liga 1 2022/2023) we have submitted to the National Police Headquarters. There are two schemes that we convey. Continuing such as the first round of the bubble and second, home away system with spectators," said Sudjarno to the media crew.

The former Deputy Chief of Metro Jaya Police hopes that the second scheme, namely home away matches with spectators, can be carried out. However, he realized that there were many processes and stages that had to be passed in order to get permission.

"Of course there are more detailed requirements for the home away scheme. First, we have to reassess the stadium. Because we want spectators, we need to know the maximum capacity (stadium)," said Sudjarno.

"Including other permits, we are also on progress. We have also written the club. We have also held a sharing knowledge about the new police regulations that are good for League 1 and League 2 clubs and hopefully the results will come out this December," he added.

Regarding the home away scheme regulation, which is now stricter than before, this is related to the focus of the organizers on the safety security of the audience and infrastructure.

Because the first round of Liga 1 2022/2023 had been stopped for about two months due to the Kanjuruhan Stadium incident which claimed hundreds of lives. The incident also made the rest of the first half of the match continued with a bubble system without spectators.

After the entire preparation and assessment process is complete, the plan for the second round of Liga 1 2022/2023 will resume on January 14, 2023.

PT LIB has previously evaluated the remaining first half of Liga 1 2022/2023 which took place with a bubble system. Sudjarno stated that everything had gone well and according to direction.

"So far there is only one week left and everything is going well, on time and the process related to new things that are part of the transformation of national football we also follow," he said.

"Regarding licensing, stadium assessments, we will fulfill all of these stages. Until finally a bubble is allowed without spectators," continued Sudjarno relieved.
