Victoria Beckham revealed that her husband was disappointed to learn that he could even be an embarrassing father.
In the 'Armchair Expert' podcast, Victoria reveals that Harper doesn't want to be seen with his father as they approach school. He explained that the awareness made David "heartbroken".
"David was in this conversation a few days ago when he was driving Harper. He was like, 'Father, could you lower me a bit away from school'," Victoria said.
"She's our youngest daughter and she's like 'oh really, this is happening'.
"And then he's like 'if it's not cool that David Beckham is your brother...' For your sake, to be honest, what expectations do most of the other kids have."
Victoria went on to joke that maybe David was wearing only "bad clothes that day", pointing out that the source of their daughter's shame "can be as fundamental as that."
The former Spice Girl personnel reminisced about a similar feeling when they were still in school. Most children don't want to attract unnecessary attention and want to appear as normal as possible.
"We have Rolls Royce but because [my father] is an electric wholesaler, he also has a van," Victoria recalled.
"My sister and I used to say, like 'please get us off the van'.
"I think more kids at school were dropped off in a van and so when we were in Rolls, we would be like 'oh please take us on the road'."
