YOGYAKARTA - The season for the 2022/2023 Liga 1 competition will end on 24 December. PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) evaluates the remaining half of the season which takes place with the bubble system.

According to PT LIB's Director of Operations, Sudjarno, the bubble system implemented in the remaining half of the season has gone well and in accordance with the directives.

"The continuation of the first round of Liga 1 2022/2023 has gone through a process where then we can get permission to continue, even with a bubble scheme around Central Java and Yogyakarta," said Sudjarno when met on the sidelines of the League 1 competition in Bantul, Tuesday, December 20.

"So far there is only one week left and everything is going well, on time and the processes related to new things that are part of the transformation of national football we also follow," he continued.

"Regarding licensing, stadium assessments, we will fulfill all of these stages. Until finally a bubble is allowed without spectators," said Sudjarno relievedly.

Previously, the 2022/2023 Liga 1 competition had stopped for more than two months. This is the aftermath of the incident at the Kanjuruhan Stadium which killed hundreds of fatalities in the Arema FC vs Persebaya match in Surabaya.

After going through the review and evaluation process, the competition then got permission to continue. However, there are conditions that are determined, namely with a bubble system or centralized in locations around Central Java and Yogyakarta.

Now the rest of the half-season running with the bubble system will be completed, although Sudjarno said that during the implementation everything went well but there were things that had to be evaluated, one of which was about the referee's performance.

"But indeed some things need to be evaluated. As the spotlight is the referee," he said.

"The assignment (of referee) is indeed from the federation. PT LIB has written to the federation to evaluate the referee with the permission of the President Director of PT LIB to have written to the federation to improve the referee's performance in the remaining time of this bubble. Because previously it was quite good, but in the bubble there were many complaints and we will fix it," continued Sudjarno.

Regarding the match, the Director of Operations said the competition was going well. The chase for points at the top of the standings makes the match go well.

"So far the game is pretty good. Rank 1 alternates. Including (competition) in (the standings) below Some teams are worried. But there is still a second round and that can still change," he said.
