Dembele Past Messi Ahead Of The 2022 World Cup Final: France Also Wants To BROk Him!

JAKARTA - The French national team will face Argentina in the Qatar 2022 World Cup final, Sunday, December 18. Lionel Messi will go all out in the match later.

This final is Messi's 35th year old last chance to win the biggest football tournament he has ever won. He has already decided the 2022 World Cup will be the last.

This did not make the French star, Ousmane Dembele, propelled. He said France was the same as Messi, wanting to win trophies for the second time.

"Together with his great career, it would be great if he also won the World Cup, the problem is we also want to win it again," Dembele said, as quoted by Antara via AFP, Saturday, December 17.

"We are all French, we are fighting for our country, for our team, to complete the work after everything we have done to get here."

"It's true that this is the trophy he wants, but we are also here to make our country proud. I hope France wins it," he continued.

The 25-year-old forward has become an important French player who has always started, except when he lost to Tunisia in the last group stage matches.

This is a fate change when compared to the 2018 World Cup when he played only two minutes in the knockout phase and was not even taken down at all when Les Bleus beat Belgium in the semifinals and then Croatia in the final.

Since then the French squad has changed a lot at least because of N'Golo Kante, Paul Pogba and Lucas Hernandez were absent due to injury.

However, Dembele said the experience of winning trophies the last time made the mood in the French camp very different.

"This time we have an extraordinary atmosphere. Now it's much calmer. In 2018 we were a little happier after beating Belgium in the semifinals. This time our thoughts were immediately focused on Sunday," concluded Dembele.
