JAKARTA - Dash Aqua Challenge 2022 has started on Sunday, December 11, at the GBK Aquatic Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta. More than 500 participants enlivened the event which overhauled the three categories.

At the 2022 Aqua Challenge, the organizers held the Adult Aquathlon Challenge, Kids Swimming Competition and Aqua Bike competitions.

"Especially for swimming, the 2022 Dash Aqua Challenge is followed by children aged from 6 to 16 years. We try to present a sports event that is fun but has a side to the competition," said Founder and CEO of Dash Sports Alit Aryaguna, as reported by Antara.

Dash Aqua Challenge 2022, said Alit, received full support from the Provincial Management of the All-Indonesian Swimming Association (PRSI) DKI Jakarta and the South Jakarta PRSI City Management.

"This event is open, we invite all swimming clubs in Jakarta and other cities such as Bandung, Surabaya, and some even from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB)," said Alit.

"Because participants who compete start at the age of 6, with routine activities like this, we hope that potential athletes will be born, especially swimming," said Alit.

"We have compiled a schedule for 2023 and we plan to hold a competition every three months. Not only Jakarta, but other big cities in Indonesia," he continued.

In addition to swimming for children, BTN Dash Aqua Challenge 2022 also underwent the Adult Aquathlon Challenge category which combines swimming and running.

In its implementation, participants ran 3 kilometers around the aquatic stadium followed by swimming 500 meters away and closed by running again 2 kilometers to the finish line.

There is also Aquabike, which is a combination of cycling and swimming competitions. Participants of a 10-kilometer cycling competition virtually using a bike trainer, followed by swimming 500 meters.
