PSSI will hold a new board election at the Extraordinary Congress on February 16. There are a number of figures who are starting to be predicted to be the new PSSI general chairman candidates.

One of them is SOE Minister Erick Thohir. The former Inter Milan president was championed to lead the national football parent.

Responding to the hopes of a number of circles, the Minister of SOEs admitted that he would consider it. However, Erick emphasized that he only wants to move forward if he gets a lot of support from voters or voters.

"If we want it but not supported for what? Yes, it's the same as dreams in broad daylight. If it is supported, we think about it. But it must be with togetherness, don't blame each other between supporters, clubs, PSSI, this must be a unit," he continued as reported by Antara.

Erick also agreed to carry out the total transformation of the Indonesian footballer ecosystem in order to improve the achievements of the national team, improve the league, and supporter. He emphasized the need for total transformation.

"I have said that I have to completely dismantle. Dismantling the total does not mean I blame anyone. All PSSI Chairs must be good, it's just a matter of not putting together ranks to have bigger dreams," he said.

"The national team is better, the league is better, there are no brawls of supporters, better sports facilities and the 2040 World Cup," continued the man who is also involved in the basketball world.

The name Erick Thohir suddenly reappeared and was discussed as a candidate for chairman of PSSI. The Indonesian Political Indicator Institute (IPI) in November even released the results of a survey that found 24.1 percent of respondents wanted Erick Thohir to become chairman of PSSI.
