The government has again appointed badminton athletes who have won the achievement of civil servants (PNS) within the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), last Wednesday, November 9. Some of the names of Indonesian athletes who were appointed as civil servants are also familiar to their ears, both from badminton and from other sports.

The appointment of badminton athletes to become civil servants is known from posts that show their condition while undergoing education at the Defense Functional Education and Technical Training Center (Pusdiklat Tekfungham).

The appointment of outstanding athletes to become civil servants began by the Government in 2018. At that time, the Government began to open a special route for outstanding athletes to become state civil servants (ASN). This proposal was first submitted by Asman Abnur, who at that time served as Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) and Imam Nahrawi, who at that time served as Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora).

The award is intended as a motive for athletes in the future. In addition, athletes who are appointed as civil servants are expected to contribute to the progress of the agency they enter.

The proposal was accepted by the Government at the 2018 CPNS event. At that time as many as 198 outstanding athletes took the Basic Competency Selection (SKD) test which became the main requirement for the selection of civil servants. In addition, civil servants must also go through a series of tests ranging from SKD to Sector Competency Selection (SKB). The difference is, the value of the SKD test for outstanding athletes is lighter than the standard value of the general public.

The latest civil servant salary is regulated in PP No. 15 of 2019. The regulation states that the higher the level or class, the greater the salary earned. The following is a list of salaries obtained by civil servants.
