GBK Main Stadium Needs Minor Improvement For The U-20 World Cup

JAKARTA - President Director of the Bung Karno Complex Management Center (PPKGBK) Rakhmadi Afif Kusumo said the Bung Karno Stadium (SUGBK) in Jakarta only needed minor improvements for the 2023 U-20 World Cup.

"For SUGBK, it's just a minor renovation, such as monitoring the audience and the field as well as media rooms," said Rakhmadi in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday.

For the fence, FIFA asked SUGBK to remove the guardrail between the front seat and the match field.

This, said Rakhmadi, participated in FIFA standard stadiums in Europe. Thus, later the audience's commendable attitude is needed so as not to enter the field.

"It takes maturity from the audience not to go to the field. We must respect each other, while at the same time maintaining this facility," he said.

Then, at FIFA's request, PPKGBK will improve several positions where the audience seats so that they can see the match more clearly.

Then, for the media center room, PPKGBK will add internet connection speeds so that information spreads faster without interruption.

"In addition, right, there will be a live show from here," said Rakhmadi.

PPKGBK also ensures that supporting fields for the 2023 U-20 World Cup such as Field A and Field B continue to be prepared to be suitable for use during the tournament.

The 2023 U-20 World Cup will be held on May 20-June 11, 2023 in Indonesia.

Six stadiums are used for these tournament matches, namely SUGBK in Jakarta, Jakabaring Stadium in Palembang, Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung, Manahan Stadium in Solo, Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya and Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Bali.
