Schedule Of The European Champions League 2022/2023: The Fate Of A Number Of Teams At The End Of The Jurang

JAKARTA Matchday five of the 2022/2023 European Champions League will take place tonight. A number of large teams are also threatened with failing to qualify for the round of 16 if they fail to win.

Group E match between RB Salzburg and Chelsea at the Red Bull Arena and the Group G Sevilla duel to host Copenhagen at Sanchez Pizjuan is the opening matchday five.

Currently, the teams in Group E still have a chance to qualify for the round of 16. Chelsea leads the top position with a collection of seven points, followed by Salzburg in second place with six points.

Meanwhile, two places were carried away in a row filled by AC Milan and Dinamo Zagreb. The two teams both collected four points and will face each other at the Maksimir Stadium on Wednesday morning.

The Blues automatically get tickets for the knockout round if they can get three points at home to Salzburg. Meanwhile, Milan could have had a lucky fate of failing to qualify if they lost at home to Dinamo.

Then there is also an interesting game Borussia Dortmund against Manchester City at Signal Iduna Park. Currently City have confirmed themselves to qualify for the next round, but they certainly still need a win to win the group.

City took the top position by collecting ten points, followed by Dortmund who filled second place with seven points. Sevilla and Copenhagen are in the bottom two positions with both two points.

This situation makes Dortmund need to be vigilant if they want to qualify for the round of 16. If they lose against City then they need to win the group's last game to stay in the competition.

In addition, Juventus are the next big team in danger of not qualifying from Group H. In the group, the Old Lady has only collected three points or five points apart from Benfica and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the top two positions.

To keep the hope of qualifying, Juventus need to beat Benfica when they meet in the morning. If they take home the defeat, the Italian giant will certainly be eliminated.
