Luka Modric Absen Bela Real Madrid Kontra RB Leipzig

JAKARTA Real Madrid has ensured that their flagship midfielder Luka Modric will miss the match against RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena, Wednesday, October 26 in the morning.

The Croatian international was originally in the Los Blancos squad for the fifth matchday of the European Champions League Group F. However, in a recent statement the club confirmed the absence of Modric.

"Luka Modri menjadi tidak akan memainkan pertandingan antara Real Madrid dan RB Leipzig di matchday kelima babak grup Liga Champions Eropa," demikian klub asal ibu nyali itu di situs mereka.

"The Croatian was among those who were called up by [Carlo] Ancelotti for this match, but he was ruled out ahead of the game and did not join the team at Leipzig," Los Blancos added.

Apart from Modric, Karim Benzema and Fede Valverde, are also still in doubt of appearing. According to reports, Benzema experienced muscle fatigue, while Valverde was injured when Madrid beat Sevilla on Sunday.

Benzema and Valverde are also expected to be able to strengthen the team in the 12th match against Girona at the Santiago Bernabeu, Sunday, October 30.

"He had a leg injury, it bothered him a bit, we had to look at him. I don't know if he will be able to recover [in time to face Leipzig]," Ancelotti said of Valverde's situation.

Real Madrid saat ini masih menguasai tempat teratas klasemen group dari empat laga yang sudah dimainkan dan dipastikan lolos ke babak fallu.

Ancelotti's squad has won three wins in total and one draw. If they win or draw in the Leipzig area, they will automatically qualify as group winners.
