Fanani And Ihza Add Medals At ACC 2022, Dadang Haries Bike Racing National Team Coach: Proud Achievement

JAKARTA - The mountain bike racing athlete (MTB) Zaenal Fanani and Ihza Muhammad added to the Indonesian medal coffers in the 2022 Asian continental Championships (ACC).

Appearing in the Cross Country Eliminator (XCE) number Elite Putra in Suncheon, South Korea, Sunday, Fanani and Ihza each brought home silver and bronze.

The race lasted two laps with a distance of 9 km. Based on the results of the competition received by ANTARA, Fanani and Ihza were behind representatives of Thailand, Phunsiri Sirimongkhon, who returned home with gold.

Especially for Fanani, this is the second medal after previously winning bronze at the Cross Country Olympic (XCO) Elite Putra number.

With this result, Indonesia as a whole pocketed three silvers and two bronzes in the prestigious mountain bike racing event in the Yellow Continent.

The coach of the Indonesian Bicycle Racing National Team, Dadang Haries Poernomo, appreciated the struggle of Indonesian athletes.

This achievement, said Dadang, also answered the challenge that MTB athletes could also make proud achievements.

"Previously, cycling was only for certain discipline. Now almost all disciplines have been able to show extraordinary improvements in performance," said Dadang, quoted by Antara, Sunday, October 23.

Previously, two silvers through young Red and White athlete Feri Yudoyono who took part in XCO Junior Putra and Sayu Bella Sukma Dewi at XCO Under 23 Putri on Friday, October 21.

For Sayu Bella, today also competed in the number XCE Elite Putri. Unfortunately, she only ranked fourth. In addition, there was also Dela Anjar Wulan who failed to finish.

As for the XCE Elite Putri, Deputy Kazakhstan Alina Sarkulova andIDyat Kazakova each brought home gold and silver. The bronze medal belongs to Warinthorn Phetraphhan from Thailand.
