How The Jakmania Minimizes Supporter Violence: Applys Understanding Organizational Rules Starting From The Basic Level

JAKARTA - The Persija Jakarta supporters group, The Jakmania, has a way of suppressing violent behavior in football. This is done through an understanding of organizational rules implemented from the most basic stage, namely the acceptance of prospective members.

This is considered to be an accurate way to provide basic provisions for members and prospective members in responding to the team's situation either when winning or losing.

"In general, all supporters' organizations strive to educate all members how to support the team properly and correctly without harming the rival club or organization itself," said Jiva Baskoro as General Secretary (Sekum) of The Jakmania when contacted by VOI.

"We at The Jakmania have given clear rules both for members and prospective members, every prospective member who wants to register as The Jakmania they must know and understand the rules made by the organization," he continued.

A good understanding of the basic rules of the organization called Jiva will be a strong limit for supporters in their attitude. That way, supporters will be more careful and hopefully can maintain the good name of their favorite organization and team.

"If they understand from the start, they (supporters) must maintain the good name of Persija and The Jakmania wherever they are. With that provision, they will hesitate to do things that are detrimental to either the team or the organization itself," he explained.

The briefing of the basic understanding in question also did not go away. The Jakmania security said there was a role from the Field Coordinator (Korlap) in helping to spread information repeatedly to The Jakmania.

Even then, we always socialize all the rules and basic understandings in every home match and Persija away from all of The Jakmania. Usually we are also assisted by Korlap for this.

"They (Korlap) also helped put up banners containing information and appeals for The Jakmania so that they always stick to the rules to minimize friction between any party," explained Jiva.
