National Football Competition Kental Rivality, Supporter Education Is Not Guarantee Of Riots Can Stop

JAKARTA Bonek frontman Hamin Prastian or who is familiarly called Hamin Gimbal assesses that currently supporting education has not been able to guarantee that unrest in football will stop.

Football supporters in Indonesia are considered to still need massive education from stakeholders following the incident in Kanjuruhan which claimed hundreds of lives earlier this month.

Hamin said that in Bonek itself, education has been carried out for a long time. However, for certain matches, especially those with rivalities, riots seem a bit difficult to avoid.

"Supporter education has been around for a long time. We have formed regional coordination. There is a chairman. There is also a Surabaya supporters foundation here. Usually the chairman of the forum is summoned. All of them are responsible for its members," he said when contacted by VOI.

In Indonesian league competitions, there are quite a lot of competitions that are thick with rivalry. One of them is Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya, which recently left a sad tragedy.

The rivalry between these two teams is very difficult to eliminate because they are ingrained in meat. Even though there have been mitigation efforts from various parties, there are still obstacles that some people can take advantage of.

Hamin said that in important, heated matches with competition, security should need to be categorized because education alone doesn't seem enough. Especially when it happened in Malang, Persebaya fans were not even present.

"But earlier, come back again. If there is a hot match back to the fanatical fans who just want to win. In Bonek there are also supporters who want to make a fuss. Some take advantage of the big crowd," he said.

The tragedy of the death of hundreds of supporters in Malang is still being investigated by a joint team of fact-finding seekers. The police are considered the most responsible institution for using tear gas that is prohibited by FIFA.

The death of hundreds of supporters made Liga 1 and Liga 2 Indonesia suspended for two weeks. The competition is likely to continue again after an in-depth evaluation is carried out by related parties according to the direction of the President.
