In The Aftermath Of The Judicial Tragedy, FIFA Will Be Officed In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The International Football Federation (FIFA) will form a transformation team as a form of follow-up to the Industrial Tragedy. President Joko Widodo said, during the process, FIFA will have an office in Indonesia.

To carry out this agenda, FIFA will also cooperate with the Indonesian government to facilitate their work process.

"FIFA together with the government will form a team to transform Indonesian football and FIFA will have offices in Indonesia during these processes," Jokowi said in a press statement from the Merdeka Palace on Friday, October 7 evening.

Jokowi said, after conveying this news the President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino will also visit Indonesia in the near future. During his visit, Gianni will have a discussion with the government about football in Indonesia.

"Later, the President of FIFA will come to Indonesia in October or November to discuss with the government," he continued.

Joko Widodo also explained that the aftermath of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy did not make FIFA impose sanctions on Indonesia. This was based on a letter he received as a follow-up to the results of the conversation between Jokowi when making a call with the President of FIFA on October 3, 2022.

"Alhamdulillah, Indonesian football is not subject to sanctions by FIFA," said Jokowi.
