JAKARTA - Persib Bandung coach Luis Milla focused on maintaining the condition and mentality of the players in the midst of the postponement of Liga 1 2022/2023 due to the incident at the Kepanjen Defense Stadium, Malang Regency, last Saturday, October 1.

"This is a big problem for all coaches, including me. With the current situation, we have to look for alternatives and try to keep players motivated," Milla said, via the club's official website, quoted on Tuesday.

Milla admits that the current situation is a challenge for all coaches, including himself as long as the competition is not yet underway.

According to him, coaches in situations like this must make alternative programs while waiting for further clarity on the competition.

Specifically for Persib, Milla explained that it was important for him to keep the players motivated because Persib was in a positive trend because it passed three matches with a perfect score.

"Now of course still a question mark for next week's match. But what we are currently making is trying to tell players, that we have to keep our concentration, and focus every day. That's what we're trying to do," he said.

The tragedy that occurred at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, East Java, after the match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya, last Saturday, killed at least 125 people.

The 2022/2023 Liga 1 competition must be delayed for the next two weeks due to the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Kepanjen, Malang Regency, Saturday, October 1, 2022.

The decision was stated in the official letter of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) numbered 583/LIB-KOM/X/2022, regarding the Notification of the 2022/2023 Liga 1 Competition, dated October 3, 2022.

The Blue Prince, who was originally preparing to play a derby match against Persija Jakarta at the Gelora Bandung Stadium, Sea Api (GBLA), Bandung, Sunday, October 2 yesterday, failed to compete.

For further developments, the decision letter stated that PT LIB will continue to communicate and coordinate with the participating clubs in Liga 1 2022/2023.
