JAKARTA Pension of great tennis player Roger Federer automatically marks the end of an era. The tennis world lost one of its best legends after two decades longer to compete with other top players.

Federer announced he would retire from high-level tennis after the Laver Cup in London this month. The owner of 20 grand slam titles will no longer compete at the elite level after his final appearance at Wimbledon 2021.

After the grand slam on the lawn, Federer underwent knee surgery for the third time. Since then the 41-year-old athlete has never been in a major tournament before the Laver Cup next month which witnessed the end of his career.

Unbeknownst to him, Federer is one of the greatest players in history in two different eras. After ending the Pete Sampars era, he engaged in fierce competition with names like Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray.
