2022 World Championships: Ahsan/Hendraju To Finals After Dlisting Fajar/Rian Through Game Rubbers

JAKARTA - Indonesian men's doubles, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan advanced to the 2022 World Championship finals. The Daddies achieved this result after defeating compatriot Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian.

In the semifinals which took place at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, Japan on Saturday 27 August morning WIB. This compatriot fight lasted fiercely up to three matches, but in the end, Ahsan/Hendra secured the ticket to the final with the final score 23-22, 12-21 and 21-16.

Although in the end had to give up from the seniors, Fajar/Rian's efforts at the beginning of the first game could not be considered one-sided. Both were able to steal three points and were maintained until the score was 6-3.

The distance was then tried to be minimized by Ahsan/Hendra, but The Daddies' efforts were still countered by the junior until he finally won 11-7 in the early interval.

After Fajar/Rian's break, he continued to build points until the score was 15-7. But the persistence of the senior men's doubles then paid off because at the end of the first game the superior score was in their favor 23-21.

In the second game Fajar/Rian implemented a similar pattern at the beginning of the first game to regain early points. This managed to bring them ahead in the second interval with a score of 11-4. The long distance made for Ahsan/Hendra made Fajar/Rian's movement more flexible, until the second game won with a score of 21-12.

The draw from these two rounds made the fight have to continue into the decisive round. In the third game the competition was getting tenser because Ahsan/Hendra no longer gave space to Fajar/Rian.

The pressure made by Ahsan/Hendra from the first minute made them 6-3 ahead and continued to run smoothly until the third interval closed with a 11-5 victory. After the third half, Ahsan/Hendra appeared more relaxed which actually made Fajar/Rian often make mistakes on their own.

Ahsan/Hendra took advantage of this situation to appear more carefully, the tactics chosen by The Daddies paid off sweetly because they were able to close the third game with a 21-16 victory. This result brought them to the final to face the winner of the fight between Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik (Malaysia) vs. Sawik Sairaj Rankireddy/Chirang Shetty (India).
