JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta management welcomed the ten players who were called up to the U-19 national team. However, the club will not let all players leave the team immediately, but gradually.

Previously, the Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong had released a list of 36 U-19 players for the training camp which took place from August 25 to September 7 in Jakarta. This training camp is a preparation to appear in the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers on September 14-18 in Surabaya.

Of the 36 players chosen by the South Korean coach, there were ten Persija players, both from the academy level and the first team.

Regarding this, Persija Vice President Ganesha Putera said that some names from the academy could directly join the training camp (TC) with the national team.

However, for players in the first team, the club will ask PSSI for waivers because they may be present longer.

The delay in joining the U-19 players from the first team is called Ganesha because they still have to go through the agenda with the club. It is also to finalize preparations with the national team.

"When TC is still going on for a long time, we will mature these players at the club. We have good coaches and are committed to developing young players," Ganesha said in a statement on the club's official website.

"They will play at a competitive level and hopefully when they come to the (U-19) national team they are more than ready. We hope they can help the national team achieve the best results," he said.

The ten names of Persija Jakarta players who were called up to the U-19 national team were Agi Firmansyah, Achmad Maulana Syarif, Dia Syayid Alhawari, Rayhan Utina, and Teuku Razza Fachrezi who came from the academy. Meanwhile, five other names taken from the main team were Alfriyanto Nico Saputro, Cahya Supriadi, Frengky Deaner Missa, Ginanjar Wahyu, and Muhammad Ferarri.

Meanwhile, according to Macan Kemayoran coach Thomas Doll, the summons of ten of his foster children to the national team is a matter of pride. He felt this was a sign that the Persija players had talent and the coaching was going well.

"I think it's good we sent a lot of representatives to the national team. That means we have a lot of talent at the club. We are very happy and we can see the development of young players," said Thomas.
