JAKARTA - Atletico Madrid must swallow the bitter pill when they host Villarreal in the continuation of the Spanish La Liga, Monday, August 22, early morning WIB.

In the match that took place at the Civitas Metropolitano, Atletico lost 0-2. This match was also marked by a red card for the host player.

The match was tight. Villarreal then scored in the 73rd minute through Yeremi Pino.

In the 90+4 minute, Nahuel Molina was sent off and made Atletico play with 10 men. Three minutes later, Gerrard Moreno was able to score Villarreal's second goal.

This result puts Villarreal at the top of the La Liga standings with six points. They are ahead on goal difference from Real Madrid who occupy second place and Real Betis who are in third place.

Meanwhile, Barcelona pushed to fourth place in the standings after a 4-1 win over Real Sociedad. The Blaugrana goals were scored by Robert Lewandowski (two goals), Ousmane Dembele, and Ansu Fati.

Now, Xavi Hernandez's fleet has collected four points after the inaugural La Liga match only won a draw.
