Indonesian U-16 Team Will Meet President Jokowi, Menpora: Be Part Of The Commemoration Ceremony Of The Seconds Of The Proclamation

JAKARTA - The Indonesian U-16 team, which won the 2022 AFF Cup, will meet President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). The players and coaches will also participate in the ceremony for the 77th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at the State Palace, Wednesday, August 17.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali. He said the meeting with President Jokowi was the aspiration of the players.

"So when I finished in the dressing room, I got aspirations from them. They wanted to meet the President and someone said if possible the proclamation ceremony," said the Minister of Youth and Sports, as reported by Antara, Monday, August 15.

The aspiration, continued the Minister of Youth and Sports, was conveyed to President Jokowi and then it was granted. He also admitted that he had received direction from the number one person in Indonesia.

"So, later the U-16 children will come on August 17 in the morning, they will be part of the commemoration ceremony for the seconds of the proclamation," said the man from Gorontalo.

After the ceremony, President Jokowi is likely to meet Muhammad Iqbal Gwijangge and his friends.

Previously, President Jokowi had congratulated the Bima Sakti troops for capturing the AFF U-16 Cup trophy. However, the remarks were not made directly but through the official presidential social media channels the day after.
