Satria Muda Jakarta Wins The First Match Of The 2022 IBL Playoffs, Got Fierce Resistance From Amartha Hangtuah

BANDUNG - The Indonesia Basketball League 2022 playoffs have begun. Satria Muda Pertamina Jakarta successfully won the inaugural match.

Facing Amartha Hangtuah, Satria Muda won with a narrow score on Saturday, August 13, 2022. Competing at C-Tra Arena, they won with a narrow score of 88-86.

Imported player Elijah Foster became the most productive player in Satria Muda's victory this time. He recorded a double double, 31 points and 14 rebounds, according to the league's official record reported by Antara.

After Elijah, Satria Muda players who also dropped in double-digit points were Arki Dikania Wisnu and Juan Laurent Kokodiputra. Arki had 17 points and 5 rebounds, while Juan Laurent had 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Meanwhile, from the Hangtuah camp, new foreign player Ronnie Lee Boyce led the team's scoring with 26 points, Gunawan contributed 17 points, followed by Fisyaiful Amir with 16 points.

Satria Muda coach Youbel Sondakh admitted that he was not satisfied with this victory. He said the players had not played their best.

"The children's games have not been very good, our defense has not come out. On the other hand, Hangtuah also played extraordinary. Their confidence is high," Youbel said at a press conference after the game.

The two teams will meet again on Sunday, August 14. With the playoff system in a best-of-three format, one more win will take Satria Muda to advance to the semifinals.
