Erik Ten Hag Kapok Puts Ronaldo On The Bench, Against Brentford Gives More Playing Time

JAKARTA - Manchester United (MU) manager Erik ten Hag seems to have given up on placing Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench. He promised to give the star more playing time when the Red Devils travel to Brentford.

The second week of the 2022/2023 Premier League match between Manchester United and Brentford will be held at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday, August 13 at 23.30 WIB.

Ten Hag's decision because he felt Ronaldo's fitness was better than the previous match.

"So he had a good week of training, I think he played a little longer than half an hour (against Brighton)," Ten Hag said in his pre-match press conference, quoted on the club's official website.

"I would say he now has two and a half games," continued the Dutchman.

Despite having stated that Ronaldo has longer playing time, Ten Hag still hasn't made it clear who the players are confirmed to be starting.

"Starting XI, we'll see. I, of course, have made a decision, but I will defend it," continued Ten Hag.

In the previous match against Brighton and Hove Albion, Ten Hag put Ronaldo on the bench. The new star entered in the 52nd minute to replace Fred.

In the inaugural match of the Premier League 2022/2023, Manchester United failed to get full points. The Red Devils lost points because they lost 1-2 to Brighton.
