Siti Nafisatul Donates Indonesia's First Gold, Emilia Nova Scores Best Season At ISG 2021 Turkey

JAKARTA - The Indonesian contingent finally won the first gold medal at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) in Konya, Turkey. This gold was presented by lifter Siti Nafisatul Hariroh on Thursday, August 11, yesterday.

Siti won gold in the women's 45 kilogram (kg) class after posting a total lift of 159 kg. He beat the co-host, Cansu Bektas, who won the silver medal.

Meanwhile, the bronze medal was won by a weightlifter from Azerbaijan, Nazila Ismayilova, as reported by Antara.

Meanwhile, lifter Satrio Adi Nugroho who fell in the 55 kg class won a bronze medal. He recorded a total lift of 244 kg.

In athletics, Emilia Nova won a bronze medal in the women's 100 meters hurdles. The athlete who is familiarly called Emil posted a time of 13.59 seconds.

This is his best record throughout this season (season best). Previously, Emil's best record was 13.69 seconds when he won a silver medal at the 2021 SEA Games Hanoi.

In this number, the gold medal was won by the host athlete, Sevval Ayaz. Meanwhile, the representative of Togo won the silver medal, Naomi Akasiwa Akakpo.

This result adds to the two medals that have been won by the Indonesian contingent previously at ISG 2021. The medals were presented by the women's cycling team for the elite omnium track number (silver medal) and Eki Febri Ekawati (bronze medal).
