Kalidou Koulibaly Asks Permission To Use Number 26, John Terry's Answer Was Unexpected

JAKARTA - A bold move was made by Kalidou Koulibaly, a player who was brought in by Chelsea from Napoli. He decided to wear T-shirt number 26 upon his arrival in London.

The figure is identical to the former Chelsea captain, John Terry. This one figure is arguably the club's greatest player, can also be called a legend.

That number has not been used since John Terry left for Aston Villa in 2017. Several defenders owned by Chelsea seem reluctant to use the number.

However, that did not apply to Koulibaly. He decided to continue the trend of wearing the same number during his eight years at Napoli.

However, this French player did not use it. Previously, he had asked permission directly from John Terry.

This was revealed through a video that Koulibaly uploaded on social media with the caption, "Better contact John Terry. Honored and proud."

Terry is then heard saying, "Number 26 is very special to me, I really appreciate you calling. It would be fine for me for you to pick it up, gladly."

"I wish you well because I know how important that number is to me and I've seen you wear 26 too."

"With pleasure mate I gave you 26. No pressure. You go and keep winning trophies for us," he continued.

Terry was no less enthusiastic when Chelsea signed Koulibaly on 17 July. He tweeted, "Another great signing. Welcome to Chelsea and good luck guys."

Koulibaly's presence at Chelsea brings great hope for all parties, including supporters. Fans believe that Koulibaly could be the next John Terry figure.

Koulibaly has made an impressive impact at Stamford Bridge since joining from Napoli. He became a solid wall for the Blues when they won 3-1 over Udinese in the pre-season match.
