JAKARTA - Lenovo's Ducati racer, Francesco Bagnaia, does not seem to be following in the footsteps of his mentor, Valentino Rossi, who retired over the age of 40. The Italian rider has even thought about when to quit his job as a MotoGP rider.

According to him, this job will be more difficult. In fact, he did not deny that stress levels are also increasing every time.

"If my career goes well and I'm going to race for at least the next 10 years, let's say until I'm 35, then I don't think I want to race again after that," Bagnaia said, as reported by Speedweek.

"I was very lucky because my passion became my job, but it was getting harder and harder and more stressful," he continued.

According to Bagnaia, a career as a racer cannot be a long-term prospect. He admits, will leave this job someday.

"There are a lot of races and commitments, so I don't think my career as a driver will last long. In short, I will quit this job one day," said the former Pramac rider.

Currently, Bagnaia is fighting for the world title. He is far behind Fabio Quartararo who topped the 2022 MotoGP rider standings.

At the start of the season, he had high hopes, but things didn't go well. There were some technical difficulties, but now they can be overcome.

"In the last few races, since returning to Europe, we have been faster. There have been ups and downs, there have been bad luck and my mistakes," he said.

"Obviously this is not the best. However, the most important thing is that we know we are fast. In the second half of the season it is very important to find consistency," continued Bagnaia.
