Borneo FC Responds To Failure In The 2022 President's Cup, Arema FC Crushed In The Premier League 1 2022/2023

JAKARTA - Borneo FC picked up three points in their inaugural match in Liga 1 2022/2023. Playing at Segiri Stadium, Samarinda, Borneo FC won 3-0 over Arema FC.

The three winning goals for the squad nicknamed Pesut Etam were scored by Ahmad Nur Hardianto in the 3rd and 6th minutes and M Sihran in the 90+2 minute.

This victory is quite surprising. In addition to Arema FC, a team that has a capable composition of players, Borneo FC also appears without two foreign players, Javlon Guseynov and Jonathan Bustos.

However, the Borneo FC squad continued to appear attacking since the early minutes of the first half. As a result, Milomir Seslija's team managed to excel through Nur Hardianto's quick goal through a header using Terens Puhiri's pass.

Three minutes later, the former Persita Tangerang striker broke into Maringa's goal for the second time.

The Arema team, which went down without striker Abel Camara, tried to catch up on goals. Unfortunately, the tight guard carried out by the Borneo FC players was quite difficult for the Arema players to penetrate the heart of the home team's defense.

The match began to heat up entering the last ten minutes of normal time. Referee Agus Fauzan Arifin issued a winning card for players from two teams.

In the 83rd minute, the referee awarded a red card to Leo Guntara, and in the 90th minute it was the turn of Arema R. Febrianto's player who also had to leave the field.

Borneo FC player M Sihran also closed his team's victory party with a goal in injury time. M Sihran perfected the ball throwing up the result of Stefano Lilipaly's free kick which bounced off the crossbar.

Borneo FC's victory over Arema FC was the first victory for the team based in Samarinda City in the 2022/2023 Liga 1 event. In addition, this is also a solace for the Borneo FC team, which was defeated by Arema FC in the 2022 President's Cup with an aggregate goal of 1-0.
