Ansu Fati Immediately Climbed The Operating Table

JAKARTA - It is confirmed that Ansu Fati will undergo surgery related to the meniscus (knee) injury he sustained during Barcelona's 5-2 win over Real Betis, Goal reported on Monday.

The 18-year-old forward had to be withdrawn at half-time in Saturday's match at Camp Nou and Barca later confirmed he had an injury to his left knee.

"Fati had some discomfort in the first half and we replaced him at half-time so as not to take risks," coach Ronald Koeman told post-match reporters.

Fati will now undergo surgery on Monday (local time), after which Barca said they would release more details on how long the player will be out of action.

"First team player Ansu Fati will have surgery (on) Monday for the meniscus injury in his left knee by Dr. Ramon Cugat under the supervision of the club's medical team," wrote a question from Barcelona.

"Once this intervention has been completed, new communications will be provided with information on the results and the estimated time the player will be absent."

Fati is Barca's top scorer in La Liga this season after scoring four goals in seven appearances, while he also scored a goal beating Ferencvaros 5-1 in the Champions League.
