MU Goalkeeper Looks Cynical About Postponing The 2020 League 1 Competition Until Next Year

JAKARTA - The 2020 League 1 competition was postponed until next year. The reason is that the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) and PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) cannot get permission from the crowd from the police to hold a competition in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

PSSI's decision to postpone the 2020 League 1 competition until 2021 was responded with cynically by Madura United players. Laskar Sape Kerrap goalkeeper Muhammad Ridho Djazulie said that in 2021 PSSI and PT Liga should have started a new competition.

Ridho admitted that he was very disappointed with the postponement of the competition which was not the first time this had happened. Even the postponement of League 1 2020 to next year is considered ridiculous.

"With the status of Liga 1 in 2020 which continues in 2021 it looks ridiculous. It is better to stop it. We will start from the beginning in 2021," Ridho said as quoted by the club's official website.

In line with Ridho, Madura United defender Andik Rendika Rama also considered PSSI and PT LIB to start the competition instead of continuing the 2020 season. However, he could tolerate the postponement of the Liga 1 event until 2021.

"All this is not the will of any party. We already know, because of the current situation or situation," he said.

As is known, PSSI took steps to postpone the 2020 League 1 competition until the beginning of 2021. PSSI also gave PT LIB the authority to determine the competition system if it was to be continued.

This decision was taken at a PSSI Executive Committee meeting some time ago. A number of clubs said they knew it, some said they could predict this would happen.
