JAKARTA - Khabib Nurmagomedov has officially entered the UFC Hall of Fame, which makes him now on a par with other legendary fighters. The former lightweight mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter was officially inducted into the Hall of Fame last Thursday.

Khabib's coronation in the UFC Hall of Fame is only two years after the fighter's decision to retire. Khabib, who now works as a coach, businessman, and MMA promoter, became the first Russian athlete to be included in the UFC hall of fame.

When declared a new figure to grace the UFC Hall of Fame, Khabib recalled the moment he considered the most historic, namely when he faced Conor McGregor.

“Yes here, in this arena, October 6, 2018. The biggest fight in MMA history. I am very happy to have won that fight," said Khabib.

"I can lose another fight. But not against McGregor," continued Khabib about the memorable fight quoted from mmajunkie, Friday.

To be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame, Khabib has recorded a record 16 fights without losing in the UFC event and defended his title three times.

After beating Al Iaquinta in April 2018 to claim the UFC lightweight belt, Khabib was also able to beat McGregor in October 2018.

Furthermore, Khabib also successfully defended his title for the second time by defeating Dustin Poirier. Justin Gaethje was the last opponent Khabib faced in October 2020.

Khabib's previous meeting with McGregor was heated. Because before the duel in the octagon McGregor was known to have personally attacked Khabib with words.
