JAKARTA - The final MotoGP series in Portugal on November 22 will be held without spectators after the local government announced the implementation of a partial lockdown to combat the increase in COVID-19 cases.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Antonio Costa said the new local government regulations will take effect from 4 November.
Last week, around 27,000 spectators watched the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Portugal, but Costa said the audience was seen as having failed to enforce social restrictions.
"What happened at the Grand Prix is unacceptable and cannot be repeated," Costa said as quoted by Antara from Reuters on Sunday.
"We have informed the organizers that the MotoGP race will be held behind closed doors as it has been revealed that we are unable to stage events on such an audience scale."
