Manchester United Makes A Deal With Feyenoord, Wing-back Tryrell Malacia Could Be Erik Ten Hag's First Signing

JAKARTA - Manchester United will sign their first new player for the first team in the Erik ten Hag era. The English Premier League club is reported to have entered into an agreement with Feyenoord.

Feyenoord director Frank Arnesen said his side had reached an agreement with United regarding the transfer fee for wing-back Tyrell Malacia. Now, it's just a matter of waiting for the player's approval so that this process can be completed.

"There has been an agreement with Man United. We are now waiting for Tyrell. If Malacia says yes, then a transfer to Manchester United is close," Arnesen said, quoted by Antara from Sky Sports, Wednesday.

Manchester United is reportedly offering funds amounting to 13 million pounds, or around Rp. 235 billion. The Red Devils' proposal beat an offer from the French Ligue 1 club who are also interested in Malacia, Olympique Lyon.

New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has reportedly been monitoring Malacia for a long time. The Dutchman admired the 22-year-old's pace, positioning, sweeping accuracy and attacking ability.

The Dutch national team player has the same agency as Frenkie de Jong, Donny van de Beek and Victor Lindelof. So it is believed that it will not be difficult to bring him to Old Trafford.

Last season, Malacia appeared in 50 Feyenoord matches in various competitions and was able to contribute one goal and five assists from a total of 4,448 minutes played.

Malacia is a product of Feyenoord's academy and was promoted to the senior team in the summer of 2017. In nearly five years with the Rotterdam club, he has appeared in 136 games with four goals and 10 assists from a total of 11,646 minutes played.
