Marquez Inspired To Recover And Continue Career Like Rafael Nadal

JAKARTA - Marc Marquez gave the latest news about the condition of his hand after undergoing surgery. He said he was motivated to recover and continue his career like his tennis partner Rafael Nadal.

“I've received a lot of messages of encouragement from the fans, and they really appreciate me, especially at times like this. I want to let you know how I am doing with my recovery," said Marquez.

Marquez decided to take a break from the eighth series of the 2022 MotoGP in Italy. After experiencing a crash, he announced that the eighth series would be his last before he underwent a fourth operation on his right hand.

He is predicted to have to rest for 4-5 months to recover. However, now his condition continues to improve and he is rumored to be returning to the team in the near future. Not to race but to help the team technically in the paddock.

The Baby Alien's recovery spirit is quite high. He continues to carry out the activities recommended by the doctor to return to normal.

“Right now, although it seems like I have a lot of free time, I plan each day well. I wake up early and walk for an hour and a half,” he said.

“Then I try to occupy myself with the phone with the team, with my family or things around the house. In the afternoon I started to gently work my lower body and a little bit on my left arm.

In addition to his great desire to recover, the Repsol Honda rider was also motivated to recover thanks to the support of other riders and his team. But apart from that, Marquez also uses his colleague who is a tennis athlete, Rafael Nadal, as a reference for motivation to recover.

“I have to say that I am not alone in going through this recovery. I have the support of other riders such as lex Crivillé who experienced the same thing, Alberto Puig as the manager of Repsol Honda as well as Mick Doohan who also suffered a serious injury," he said.

"There is also a point of reference for me which is Rafael Nadal, who even when people thought he was finished, was able to overcome the pain and win again," said Marquez.

"I was with him at the Madrid Masters 1000. I know everything he has suffered and that's why he is a reference for me, because even though he is not at his best, he is capable of winning tournaments like Roland Garros," said Marquez.
