Defeat Chinese Representative, Fajar/Rian Win Indonesia Masters 2022

JAKARTA - Indonesian men's doubles pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto successfully emerged as the champions of the 2022 Indonesia Masters.

The title was won after winning two games 21-10 and 21-17 over China's Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang men's doubles at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Sunday, June 12, 2022.

This is their fourth final in five individual tournaments since losing in the first round of the All England 2022. In addition, this is also Fajar/Rian's second title this year.

Fajar/Rian became the only Indonesian representatives who came out as champions of this year's Indonesia Masters from the two representatives who qualified for the final.

One other representative is the women's doubles pair Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.

Unfortunately, the last pair failed to reach the highest podium after losing to the world number one pair from China, Cheng Qingchen/Jia Yifan.

Previously, in the mixed doubles the title was won by representatives of China, Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong. The second place got their fourth title in this BWF Super 500 event after defeating the French representatives Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue.

This victory also made them the most successful mixed doubles at the Indonesia Masters event. Their title collection now surpasses the three titles belonging to Indonesian mixed doubles Liliyana Natsir/Tontowi Ahmad.

Then in the men's singles, the Danish representative, Viktor Axelsen, took home the championship title.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion got his first title at this event after overthrowing the Chinese Taipei representative Chou Tien Chen.

A new champion was also born in the women's singles after world number three Chen Yufei rose to the highest podium after defeating Thailand's representative Ratchanok Intanon.
