His Country Defeated By Ireland 3-0, Andy Robertson: We Deserve To Be Ridiculed By Fans

JAKARTA - Scotland captain Andy Robertson said supporters deserved to express their frustration by booing after his side lost 3-0 to Ireland in the UEFA Nations League.

"We weren't good enough," Robertson told Premier Sports.

Troy Parrott, Michael Obafemi, and Alan Browne scored as Ireland beat toothless Scotland, helping Stephen Kenny's side win their first game in the competition.

The defeat came days after Scotland's hopes of reaching Qatar ended in the World Cup playoffs with a 1-3 defeat by Ukraine.

"We have now said that twice in 10 days. We disappointed the manager, which is very disappointing for us. Each of us lost our individual battles.

"The fans were behind the goal, booing us completely right. It wasn't good enough in the Scotland shirt at all.

"We have to press the reset button because everything was fine last year. This year, our performance has not been optimal. We have to come back to be consistent. I think last year that was what we were very good at."

Ireland moved up two places to second in League B Group One while Scotland, also on three points, dropped to third. Ukraine, who beat Armenia 3-0 in the other group game, remain top of the group.

Scotland will travel to face Armenia on Tuesday.
