JAKARTA - Since becoming one of the highest-paid athletes in the world, Conor McGregor has lost the killer instinct that brought him to the top of the UFC.
There was a time where none of the opponents had a chance to defeat him. You just know he'll probably end the fight in the first few rounds.
However, having won belts in two different divisions and being the first to do so, McGregor dedicated his life to his fortune. We don't blame him for that.
But, we also highly doubt his killer instincts will return to the way they used to be, even though he thinks he could still return to the UFC.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports in Monaco, The Notorious talked about where he sees himself in the future. There was still hope in his words, but he had to prove a lot to make the world believe that he really wanted to be at the top again.
"Obviously, my return will be in the octagon for the UFC - that story is over, actually it's just been written, it's just the beginning," he said.
“My body is fine. After (this), we will increase the practice little by little. I should be able to kick now. I will have another CT scan in the next few days. Then I will be allowed to kick. Once I can kick and wrestle, I'll be right back. Boxing training goes well, and strength training. Just that. I'm excited to be back."
Can Conor get back to the top?Whether McGregor can one day return to the top of the UFC or not is entirely up to him. McGregor has a lot of work to do to get there again.
First of all, he needed to focus exclusively on his training without any distractions. But the hardest part of it all was regaining the killer instinct that had clearly been lost over the years.
We already know the talent is there, but the thirst for victory is something athletes only get when they really crave it.
It will be a long road back to the top, but McGregor seems determined to get there at some point. When he gets his first fight, we'll know if he's really serious about making a comeback or not.
